Professor Mumford studies the effects of public policy in education, taxation, labor market regulation, personal finance, and the measurement of wealth. His research is published in many of the top journals in economics including the American Economic Review, Management Science, Review of Economics and Statistics, American Economics Journal: Applied Economics, and the Journal of Econometrics.
After earning a Ph.D. in Economics from Stanford University, Professor Mumford joined the Department of Economics at Purdue University in 2007. He has taught courses in econometrics, labor economics, and public economics at the undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral levels. He serves as the Kozuch Director of the Purdue University Research Center in Economics and as Co-Chair of the Daniels School of Business Transition Steering Committee. He previously served as Director of Undergraduate Programs in Economics.
